Pile support foundation and structural slab. Structural slab had varying thicknesses from 8” to 16”. Existing utilities had to be surcharged prior to pile installation. Building footprint needed to be over excavated to a depth of 10’ below grade to remove the existing saturated soil/peat and replace it with lightweight aggregate. Ground water was 3’ below grade and the waterway onsite had a tidal influence which required extensive dewatering. Multiple concrete slabs on deck and roof deck.

Reimagining Spaces, Elevating Experiences. This project transformed an unfinished space overlooking Terminal A into a luxurious club with seating for over 200 guests, dining, bar services, and more. Key features include:

>Exquisite millwork with metal cap details, tambour wood, and walnut finishes
>Acoustic paneling and ceilings
>Imported Horizon Italian granite stone and bronze metal paneling
>Quartz and Wellington stone finishes in restrooms

Despite the challenges of working in an occupied building and coordinating with airport staff, safety and timely completion were ensured. This project exemplifies our commitment to quality and meticulous planning.

Nicholson Corporation was selected by Holt Construction to complete the work for American Express Centurion Lounge at JFK International Airport. At 15,000 SF, this lounge is the largest in Amex’s global network, featuring a 2-story elevated lounge space and a mechanical penthouse located south of the existing terminal. The lounge will also include a member service area, back-of-house kitchen, family room and a bar installation with a seating area. Nicholson Corporation was responsible for the Millwork, Drywall, Ceilings, Doors, and Hardware throughout the massive world-class lounge.

We were selected by Structure Tone complete the drywall, carpentry, and ceilings for the renovation of Unilever’s US Headquarters in 2018. Nicholson assisted with the massive renovation project to transform five 1960s office buildings into a single state-of-the-art workplace.

Unilever received LEED® Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the highest level available for sustainable buildings. The revamped campus includes design features such as daylighting, greenhouse gas reductions, circadian lighting, biophilic elements, integrated smart technologies, and water efficiency systems.

In an unprecedented example of green redevelopment, Unilever reduced its carbon dioxide emissions by 50 percent, potable water demand by 50 percent, and total energy consumption by 50 percent — all while providing 28 percent more useable space and accommodating all 1,700 employees.

Nicholson Corporation is proud to have played a role in what was one of the healthiest, most sustainable, and most technologically advanced redevelopments in the New York metropolitan area.

Nicholson Corporation completed the carpentry, drywall, and ceilings throughout the American Water Headquarters in Camden, NJ. The 220,000 SF facility, which opened in December 2018, was part of a $1 billion mixed-use development initiative known as The Camden Waterfront.

The five-story LEED® Platinum building features a grand atrium, specialty wood ceilings, LED lighting, green roofs, high-efficiency HVAC and glass systems, and an extensive water reuse system. The fine craftsmanship provided by Nicholson is seen throughout multiple offices, conference rooms, and co-working spaces at the elegant waterfront headquarters.

We worked with Turner Construction on LG’s new North American headquarters. This stunning building, settled atop the steep cliffs of the Palisades in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, is LEED Platinum certified and includes energy efficient building systems, green roofs, solar panels and more. Nicholson Corporation applied our expertise to complete the carpentry, drywall, ceilings and masonry in accordance with the meticulously planned and future-forward design of this building.

What was once the former Hahne & Co. flagship department store in downtown Newark, NJ, the Hahne & Co. building was redeveloped into a vibrant mixed-use powerhouse with 172,000 SF of residential, retail, and office tenants. Completed in 2017, Nicholson Corporation was selected by Turner Construction to install the framing, drywall, millwork, sound insulation, casework, doors, safety railings, & ceilings throughout the building, including the historic grand atrium featured in these photos. Now a bustling mixed-use development boasting apartments, shopping and entertainment, this inspiring revitalization of one of Newark’s gems is a testament to our ability to transform a project at any phase of construction.

Nicholson Corporation played a significant role in the construction of the 200,000 square foot UPS technology development center in Parsippany, NJ. Selected by GC Structure Tone, we were responsible for the interior wood paneling, drywall, millwork, doors & hardware, banquet seating, and ceilings throughout the facility.

Custom millwork can often make a defining and memorable difference, turning an ordinary space into a unique environment. The process starts with our in-house draftsmen whose expertise in materials and methods can help realize your vision in a cost-effective manner. Our millwork-specialized union carpenters, with more than 20 years of experience, then execute the project in our on-premises carpentry shop. State-of-the-art tools and equipment facilitate the creation of paneling, furniture, desks, cabinets, doors, and shelving.

Throughout the 170,000 SF space, you will find millwork courtesy of Nicholson Corporation. The build-out of the space incorporates the “EY@Work” model, which aligns people, technology and real estate initiatives to support modern work styles. It features more than 100 collaboration rooms and nearly 130 flexible work areas, as part of its efforts to promote teamwork.
